Indirect Costs of Health Research in Canada's Teaching Hospitals

ACAHO feels that if the benefits of the increases in federal support for research are to be maximized, it is critical that the federal research agencies consider the impact that their awards will have on the host organization under the current funding paradigm. Granting agencies must increase the scope of their funding for research to include provision for the infrastructure required to support Canada's health care researchers and their research. Teaching hospitals can no longer be expected to provide this support from their other funding sources.
