What type of research happens in academic healthcare organizations? This was the topic of the May 6, 2010 CIHR-ACAHO Cafe Scientifique on Patient Involvement in Health Research.

ABC's of AFPs

Recently, ACAHO received a request for information on the status of Alternative Funding Plans in Canadian Academic Health Science Centres. With this in mind, we surveyed members to develop a clearer understanding by asking the following three questions: 1) Do AFPs exist within your Teaching Hospital or Regional Health Authority? 2) If an AFP exists within your Teaching Hospital or Regional Health Authority, which departments or specialties are involved? and, 3) Has a formal evaluation been undertaken to measure the impact of AFPs in your Teaching Hospital or Regional Health Authority? If yes, what were the key findings of the evaluation?
