Request for letters of intent – CRS GREPEC Competition

New program in Environment-Cancer, in partnership with the FRSQ and the MDEIE
The Cancer Research Society (CRS) is pleased to request letters of intent for its new research program in environment-cancer, the CRS GRePEC competition.
The GRePEC (Research and prevention group on environment-cancer) is one of the ways in which the CRS supports research into the environmental causes of cancer.
This program, in partnership with the Fonds de la recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ) and the Ministère du développement économique, de l'innovation et de l'exportation du Québec (MDEIE), aims to develop research on the links between the environment and cancer. The environment is herein defined as the chemical and physical elements in our living and work environments, and in our lifestyles (diet, physical activity, etc.).
The agreement comes with joint funding of up to $15 million over five (5) years by the CRS and its partners.

Candidates must send a letter of intent by 5 p.m. EST on April 6, 2010 (postmarked) to the CRS offices. The deadline for submitting the complete application is 5 p.m. EST on June 28, 2010, for the investigators who will have been asked to do so.
Term of the grants: 5 years, non renewable
Effective date: October 1, 2010
Amount of grants:
Minimum of $350,000/year
Maximum of $1,000,000/year
