ACAHO Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Canada Gairdner Foundation Awards

On Thursday, October 29, 2009, the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (ACAHO) took the stage to congratulate the Gairdner Foundation on 50 years of celebrating excellence in medical research. Dr. Kevin Smith, President & CEO of St. Joseph's Healthcare and a Board member of ACAHO took the podium to highlight the role of the Canada Gairdner Awards as a preeminent international research award, and underscored the strategic partnerships that exist between Canada's Research Hospitals, academic Regional Health Authorities and their Research Institutes, and Universities across the country - see the attached speaking notes.
