“Wait” Watchers III: Order and Speed…Improving Access to Care through Innovations in Patient Flow.

In 2009, the Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (ACAHO) surveyed its members (Teaching and Research Hospitals, and academic Regional Health Authorities) for the 3rd year to better understand the series of investments and initiatives that are underway to more effectively manage wait times.  This year's focus was on patient flow; 45 success stories from 23 member organizations across Canada were submitted from teams of providers that are making real progress in improving timely care for patients where and when they need it.  Order & Speed analyzes these cases along the continuum of care, and also identifies opportunities for the future.

While the success stories are summarized in the "Wait" Watchers report, additional details of each case presented by the author teams are also available to promote knowledge exchange. Each case study is available in the language submitted.  However, case studies can be made available in English and/or French upon request. Please click on "Download PDF" to view the full report.
