WHAT'S NEW AT ACAHO?

HealthCareCAN's Pre-Budget Submission to the Standing Committee on Finance

HealthCareCAN commends the government for putting Canada back in the black in terms of the projected fiscal surplus. This is necessary if we are to steer the economy in what continues to be a fragile, uneven recovery. The government is right to focus on jobs, innovation and the creation of new opportunities. To that end we are very pleased that the federal government has identified the health and related life sciences and technologies sector as a key strategic area that warrants additional focus and investment.

ACAHO-CHA Strategic Planning E-Consultation

The Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations and the Canadian Healthcare Association merged effective January 1st, 2014. The overall goal of the newly merged organization is to create a unified voice for healthcare institutions in advancing organizational and health system performance. A series of "listening for direction" consultations are being scheduled, including a webinar on April 29, 2014. We are now reaching out to the broader community of healthcare organizations and institutions to gain insight and input into the development of strategic directions for the merged organization and to assist in setting strategic priorities.

This confidential survey will take no more than 10 minutes of your time. Your input is invaluable to our success in working on behalf of Canadian healthcare institutions.

We would appreciate if you could complete this survey by Monday, May 12th at 12:00pm, EST. For any questions, please contact: Jennifer Kitts at jkitts@cha.ca

During the past few weeks, I have been travelling across the country collecting valuable insights for repositioning our organization. As a health system leader and stakeholder, I would like to hear your thoughts on: What more can we do to shine a light on exciting research and innovation? What policy and program innovations are needed to support high performing health care systems? How can we sustain and advance continuous learning in support of high-impact management and leadership development? I wish to share what I have heard so far with you and hear your opinions during the webinar and with a follow-up survey.

I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Bill Tholl, President and CEO
