This annual, international award endowed with Euro 75,000 is designed to recognise and reward young scientists at the outset of their career, promote innovation in biomedical research and encourage translation to benefits in human health.

The spotlight is shared by ACAHO members in a groundbreaking report by the National Task Force (NTF) on the Future of Canada’s Academic Health Sciences Centres (AHSCs). The report’s eight recommendations provide a blue print for better leveraging those Canadian organizations that combine high volume, complex, rare and specialized care patient care with life-saving research and innovations, and the provision of world-class training to future clinicians.

CIHR is funding an ACAHO Café Scientifique called 'In Sickness and in Health, Patient Involvement in Health Research'. It will be hosted by the Ottawa-based ACAHO members. The café is being held to continue the discussion with the public and policy makers on ACAHO members’ roles in patient oriented research.
